Grid crabs (referred to as grid_enemy
in the code) are powerful and invincible enemies in Archon Grid who patrol the middle portion of the mission. While idle they wander in a straight line until they hit a wall which causes them to turn around but once a grid crab is alerted by the player, they begin swiftly moving along a grid pattern in the direction of the player. If other enemies get in the way of a grid crab they are immediately gibbed.
Because they are capable of cornering the player and causing significant damage quickly, they should be avoided at all costs. Thankfully, most grid crabs in the mission are behind large blocks which can be moved to free the grid crab if the player were to suddenly decide to make their lives much harder.
