Golems (or Orbots, as they're called in the map files) are enemies outfitted with a special type of Golem Exosystem. This suit gives them extremely high armor which must be whittled down with armor-piercing attacks until the armor breaks, allowing any attack to further affect the enemy.

On normal difficulties Golems only patrol highly guarded, high profile venues. On Hope Eradicated they can also be found in back alleys or in narrow halls. Once a Golem sees the player they will begin sprinting toward the player. Once the player is within the Golem's deceptively long reach, the Golem will deliver a powerful melee attack that will do massive damage and send the player flying.

Because they are so thickly armored, a Golem might not notice being shot until their armor is broken. A careful player may find that it's best to whittle a Golem's armor down from afar using an AMG4 without waking it.

Variants[]

Meat Golem[]

The Meat Golem is a single unique Golem in the escape route at the end of Miner's Miracle.

While most of the Meat Golem's behavior is identical to a normal Golem, the Meat Golem trades its high armor for high health. This means that the Meat Golem is susceptible to any kind of attack from the top, making it a much easier enemy overall to deal with than standard golems.

Its "armor" appears to be orbs of meat.

Flechette Golem[]

The Flechette Golem is a Golem which appears in the optional area to the side of the Hope Eradicated section of Cruelty Squad Headquarters near to where the ZKZ Transactional Rifle is acquired.

The Flechette Golem acts very similarly to normal Golems, but wears a special Golem armor textured like a Flechette Grenade. This texture is the only warning the player will get that, upon death, the Flechette Golem will erupt into Flechette Grenades, spraying the small room he occupies with hundreds of flechettes.

Worm Golem[]

Worm Golems are a variety of Golem which appears in high numbers in Trauma Loop.

Worm Golems behave similarly to standard Golems, but are easier to take down due to its lack of armor. As well as gibbing easier. However, gibbing causes them to burst into several Armored Fleshrats, creating a messy and dangerous situation.

To make matters even worse, Worm Golems' "armor" is very similar in appearance to standard Golems' armor. Upon close inspection it can be determined that the Worm Golem's armor is textured with the same pile of carapaces texture that the bottom area of Trauma Loop is textured with.
