Abraxas is the boss of Archon Grid and the final boss of the first ending. It is a giant sun-faced monster with long, gangly humanoid arms, a large expressive face, a spinning halo behind its head, and two additional spherical heads on the ends of its two "tails". It appears at the end of Archon Grid and must be defeated before the player can finish the mission.
Behavior[]
Abraxas sits idle and inanimate until the player enters its arena. It will then quickly spring to life and begin doling out its three attacks from each of its three heads. Destroying the three heads will kill the beast. Unloading a fully automatic weapon into the heads from a distance is a very effective way to destroy them.
Left Head[]
The head on Abraxas's left tail shoots a continuous laser beam that will quickly demolish the player's health. It starts unfocused but quickly locks onto the player's position. Its targeting lags slightly, giving the player an opportunity to run without it immediately decimating the player's health. Destroying this head right away can significantly reduce the stress of the battle.
Right Head[]
The head on Abraxas's right tail shoots massive spherical projectiles that do massive damage. Because these projectiles take time to travel toward the player they are easy to dodge. The head will create a continuous stream of these projectiles in a row with small gaps between bursts.
Main Head[]
The main head in the middle of Abraxas and atop his shoulders generates enemies to fight the player. The enemies are generally either armed gunmen or knifers, and they run directly toward the player the moment they are spawned. These enemies can stack up over time if the player isn't quick about defeating Abraxas.

Trivia[]
- Its name is found in the map data for Archon Grid. The term "Abraxas" holds mystical meaning in Gnosticism. In the system of Gnostic Basilides, Abraxas (also known as Abrasax) is referred to as the ruler, or "Great Archon" of the 365 spheres or "heavens," and many texts designate Abraxas as "the power above all, and First Principle" and "the cause and first archetype."
- Abraxas's face is the same as the one shown when the player fails a mission.
- Abraxas is intangible to the player. You can pass straight through its body as if it's not there, even when Abraxas is alive.
- If the player is using the Cortical Scaledown+ upgrade then Abraxas will not activate when the player enters the arena no matter how much the player attempts to agitate it. Even shooting Abraxas's weak spots don't seem to do any damage. This renders the level unwinnable. The only way to kill Abraxas and finish the level when using the Cortical Scaledown+ upgrade is to use an implant that allows you to gain height, such as the Grappendix. You need to be at about neck level with Abraxas before he will begin to target you and thus allowing you to deal damage to him.
